Three generations of our family are involved in the ownership and operations that began in the DeSoto car dealership garage of Ray Wood in 1954. Unbelievable! My husband fell and broke his ankle right after Christmas. Just got the bill from Wood's for a trip from Gardner to Worcester for $800.00.

He needed to be transported back to Gardner after his surgery at UMass. Another non-emergency EMS Service brought him back. Just got the bill today. $3000.00 for the service and $5220.00 for the mileage! $8,220.00!..."

My son was in a snowboarding accident at Wachusett Mountain in Princeton on Dec 28, 2013. He was transported by Medstar to Heywood Hospital then Wood's transported him to UMASS. Another ambulance company charged $4500 for an approximate 10 mile drive. Wood's Ambulance charged $1939 for 30.5 miles going Rte 140 to 190 or 38.4 miles going Rte 2 to 190 (not sure which way they went). This is a prime example of the difference by which we & our insurance companies will be charged.

James A. Wood
President

Jim worked with his parents when Wood's first began in 1954. Besides managing, he stays active by working on the team as an Ambulance & Chair Car EMT.
Linda A. Wood
Vice President

Linda is co-owner of Wood’s Ambulance. She has a nursing license and EMT certification. Linda has had a hand in every department at Wood's.
Jennifer Wood
General Manager

Jenn is the younger daughter of Linda and Jim Wood. She oversees company finances and the day-to-day functions of all departments.
Jessica Smith
Transportation Mgr

Jessica is the oldest daughter in the Wood family. She works from our Dispatch Office coordinating Staff and Chair Vans with patients & medical facilities.
Cathryn Carpenter
Office Mgr

Cathi’s experience is in supervision and management in the Patient Accounts and Medical Billing for 24 years. She oversees the billing process.
Missy Fasshauer
Operations Mgr

Missy has her Paramedic Cert. from Quinsigamond Community College and has been in the EMS field for 16 years. She's oversees all Wood's operations.
Cindy Schramko
Human Resources

Cindy has 28 years of experience in Human Resources and has been with us for 12. Cindy is responsible for hiring of quality employees and other related tasks.
